I had always known of MaKayla from high school, but more recently got to know her better through some mutual friends. I was thrilled when I heard of MaKayla’s engagement and even more excited when she asked me to photograph this special time in their lives! It was evident, right off the bat, that Jon + MaKayla were a good match. Jon was a gentleman and both were so cool, calm, and collected at their engagement shoot. I loved watching them interact with one another, and was amazed by how well they not only received direction, but also how they naturally posed themselves without any work on my part. The weather was perfect, minus a short rain cloud passing over, but Jon and MaKayla were so chill about it, it didn’t seem to phase them at all. We chatted about how they met and their plans for the wedding, and before we knew it the sun came back out and we jumped right back into things. MaKayla has the sweetest, most warm smile, and it was obvious that each smile in every photo was genuine. Jon and MaKayla will be getting married this August in Utah. Best wishes to you both, you two have kind souls and were SO fun to photograph.
Anna is a doll. I met Anna years ago when we performed together in a musical camp at a local theater. From day one, I was always drawn to Anna’s contagious laugh and kindness towards others. It was so great to meet up for her senior session, and to see how those great qualities I had noticed a while back, were more true than ever. Anna was a delight to photograph, and laughed her whole way through the photo shoot. My friend Megan joined the shoot to assist, and we had the best night driving all over Lancaster and pulling off into cool fields and spots to take photos in. On our drive home, the three of us girls laughed with the windows down and music up, and unanimously agreed that it was SO refreshing to take a drive around our hometown and to be reminded of the little beauties that really do mean the most. Now Anna is off to Penn State to study to be an engineer! Beauty AND brains! Best of luck, Anna - Penn State is going to LOVE you.
Meet the Carey Family! It was such a joy to photograph this crew. Erin was a friend from middle school, so when she reached out to me about taking photos of her, her son, and family, I was ecstatic! It had been so long since I had seen Erin, and getting to see not only her, but meet her precious son, was just too much excitement for one day! We met at Lititz Springs Park and enjoyed ooh-ing and ahhh-ing over Erin’s darling son. He was the most well-behaved baby and gave me nothing but smiles the whole session! As if this little guy’s cuteness wasn’t enough to make the shoot, the positivity and helpfulness of Erin and her family made everything flow so smoothly and well during their family portrait session. I’m thankful for such a fun job that reconnects me to old friends and introduces me to many new. Enjoy these photos! I can’t get over little Matthew’s big blue eyes! *insert heart eye emojis*
