Pete + Abby | Wedding

There are no words for how beautiful Pete + Abby's wedding was. If you've never checked out the new venue, Excelsior, in downtown Lancaster, I strongly encourage you to. It has quickly become one of my most favorite venues! My dear second shooter, Sarah, and I loved every minute of capturing Pete + Abby's special day. Enjoy some of my personal favorites of the day!

Mae Woven | Letterfolk | Thimblepress

This past April, I had the pleasure of teaming up with three companies who sent me some beautiful merchandise, which I was able to style and photograph! Part of what made this shoot so special was that my sister-in-law (who is also a photographer) was in town from Utah visiting and brought my niece along to help out. I also had a sweet 8th grader shadow me for her school's career shadow day and that really was another element that made the day so fun and different from my typical day to day routine - not to mention, my model is a girl I used to babysit. :) It's safe to say, this shoot that I was dreaming in my head truly came to life perfectly. I wouldn't have swapped any person, place, or thing to make it any different. Don't you love those kinds of moments?

Paleo Chocolate Chip Cookies | Personal

I was introduced to this AMAZING chocolate chip cookie recipe, via my sister-in-law's personal blog, Above Harrison. She is an incredible photographer and is always stumbling upon lovely things to share - these cookies included. I just thought I would share her site with you all and of course it was only fair that I shared this heavenly recipe, too. You can find the recipe she reposted on her website, here. Also, see those pretty greens in the background? They are leftovers from a styled shoot I conducted last week. I cannot WAIT to share the images with you all! Stay tuned! ;)

Happy Easter | 2016

Happy Easter, friends! While looking for the perfect Easter cake, I stumbled upon Mel's Kitchen Cafe's recipe for this delightful lemon blueberry cake and knew I just HAD to try to make it gluten-free for our family gathering. I had so much fun putting this adorable two-layered cake together and serving it to my family in celebration of our Savior! This cake may be sweet, but nothing is sweeter than today's reminder that Jesus overcame death to give us the gift of eternal life with Him! Blessings to all my friends on such a beautiful, beautiful day! If you'd like to try out this recipe for yourself, spring on over here to check it out! :)

Broderick Family | Lifestyle - Utah

I think among all of the photographs that I have taken, the ones that I will treasure the most are the ones of my family. The organic moments of life going on without interruption, quietly observing with my camera, and capturing the sweet interactions between my brother and his wife and their daughter. While I love styling sessions and experimenting with creativity and posing my clients, sometimes I like to sit back and watch people fall into natural moments. They pose themselves, and there's nothing more genuine than that. Looking at these photos that I captured during my visit out in Utah makes me feel so blessed to hold a gift that can bless others, and that can allow me to literally freeze time in a frame. Enjoy some sweet photos of my beautiful family.

Hillary | Spring Mini-Session

Happy First Day of Spring, friends! Although the warm weather around here has been inconsistent, it surely hasn't stopped the grass from being that beautiful green, nor the flowers from blooming!

I had a lunch date with my sweet friend, Hillary the other day, and we ended up picking up some flowers at our local market, arranging them and wrapping them ourselves, and set off for a little impromptu session in downtown Lancaster! Aren't those just the best kinds of sessions? That pastel wall, those sweet flowers, and Hillary's darling dress have got me craving warm weather in the worst way!! Spring, you are MORE than welcome to stay!

Katie | Senior

It's safe to say that my session with Katie is by far one of my most FAVORITE sessions I have ever photographed. It helps that we were shooting at the most magnificent location and that I had a beautiful model. :)

I met Katie back when she lived in Pennsylvania and we went to the same high school! I was actually good friends with her older brother and sister! When Katie and her family moved to California, I wasn't sure of when I'd see this clan next, but low and behold, it was one big WONDERFUL reunion in Utah, as the three of them are attending BYU in Utah. I had an absolute blast catching up with this trio and could not be more pleased with how these photos turned out.

Thanks for bearing the cold with me, Katie! It was absolutely worth falling in the knee-high snow and freezing our behinds off, all for the sake of these photos! You were a delight to photograph and I'm so glad we could reconnect when I was out visiting!

Kameron | Studio

Sometimes in the "off season" of photography, it's easy to get stuck in a creative rut. Photographing the same things can become routine, and I think it's important to challenge yourself every now and then and try something new! When Kam reached out about photos for his modeling portfolio, it completely changed my frame of mind! I started dreaming up a super natural, minimalistic studio shoot and what that would look like. Kam, a friend since elementary school, was all in! What really made this shoot come together, however, was Hingework, a new collaborative space/studio that recently opened in Downtown Lancaster. The crew at Hingework was so laid back and inviting that we immediately felt right at home. Kam brought along our friend Hanna, who I also have been friends with since elementary school and we cranked up some music on my Bose speakers and got started on the creative fun. Hingework offered such a cool atmosphere for my session with Kam, and I cannot think of a better place to have photographed him. Although this is not the type of shoots I typically offer, I was so glad to have refreshed my creativity with some friends from high school and try something new. Enjoy some of my faves - and Kam, kill it in NYC. They love you already!

John + Abby | Wedding

I kicked off the 2016 year by photographing John + Abby's BIG day! And no better wedding to start the season off with than this one! Although it was January, we were greeted with mild weather and perfect lighting. Beyond the beautiful weather we were blessed with, it was evident that Abby's hand-made, thought out details, and the genuine love between her and John were really the things that made the wedding come together in the way it did. My second-shooter, Hillary, and I absolutely loved running around Downtown Lancaster to capture the moments of the day. Congratulations to John and Abby - you were a delight to work with and the love between the two of you and your families really shined all throughout the day.

Broderick Family | Lancaster, PA

This is such a special post I am SO excited to finally be sharing! This past August, my brother, sister-in-law and niece came to visit from Utah. My sister-in-law, Sam, is a fellow photographer and creative, so this photo session was something we had been dreaming up for a long time. Lori, of Wildflowers By Design, was the key piece to making our session a reality. She put together the most delicate and beautiful flower crown for my precious niece. The soft white flowers and deep, deep greens were exactly what Sam and I had in mind for the session, and the garland for the oversized balloons was the perfect, whimsical touch. I am so grateful for the gift of photography and the ability to document sweet moments like this. Seeing my older brother as a father is something so special to me, and it feels like an honor to have captured their very first family photos.

Jack 2.0 | Personal

So a few weeks ago, my old Jetta, Jack (1.0), left me sit in the middle of an intersection. I wish I could say that was the first time he did that to me, but it wasn't. Being an almost 15 year old car with 140K+ miles, it was safe to say I was due for a new car.

My motto: If you didn't take pictures with your new car, then did you even really get a new car?? Just kidding. Kind of. :) The other day, the weather was just perfect and the sun was setting beautifully, so I called up my friend, Tori, and started with: "So, this may be one of the weirdest requests I've had for you but...can you come take a few pictures of me with my new car before the sun goes down?" Like now?, she said. "Yea, like now". A few minutes later, Tori pulled up to my house and I handed her my camera and we rounded the corner to the hidden gem in my neighborhood - this beautiful Amish-owned horse farm. I parked my car, hopped out, and we laughed and snapped away as the sun quickly fell. I can't tell you how good it felt to just shoot for fun. These spontaneous mini sessions with fellow creative friends is what it's all about, I'm tellin' ya. So thankful.

And now, without further ado, I am proud to present my new baby, Jack 2.0!

Meet Jack 2.0! He is black, shiny, with all black leather interior, and don't even get me started about the sound system. OH, the sound system. All the heart eyes for that. I figured at this point in my life, where I am driving all over the place for my photography business (and fun adventures too!), it was time to upgrade old Jack. I am so excited about this car and had such a great experience when purchasing it, that I just had to share with you all!

My next door neighbor is one of the top guys at our local CarMax and he ushered me into the best experience I could dream of when it came to purchasing a new car. He referred me to a sales consultant who was seriously an angel dressed in blue and yellow. I walked into the dealership with a lot of questions, apprehensive, nervousness, excitement, and a little bit of a biased opinion towards strictly German cars. ;) Amidst all of these things, I was greeted with warm, friendly smiles, encouragement, honesty, and best of all, NO PRESSURE. From the moment I walked into CarMax, to the moment I drove away in my new car, I felt like I was in good hands and felt confident about my decision and the help I received to get there!

Ironically, Jack 2.0, the 2012 Jetta I purchased, was the very first car I sat in on the lot. I secretly fell in love with it, but kept my thoughts to myself until I looked at a handful of cars that would be conducive for my driving needs (and what looked cool, let's be honest). I asked tons of questions and flat out asked about haggling and made comparisons to cars I had seen online on websites like Craigslist, etc. My sales consultant was super honest about all of my questions and helped me to understand the reasoning for their haggle-free prices and how you really cannot compare "apples to apples" when it comes to Craigslist and CarMax. After my whole experience, I really saw what she meant by that! My entire visit at CarMax was seamless, and it was evident to me that CarMax has mastered and created an intentional streamline for their customers and how things flow for their visit. I felt confident about what I was getting, what I was paying, how I was paying, and the care I had received and would continue to receive thereafter my purchase.

One thing that really showed me how upstanding the company is, was during the finance portion of my visit at CarMax. My neighbor came by to check in on me and see how I was doing. He greeted me with the biggest smile and asked how I was doing. He gave me the history of my new car; what work they had done on it, and pulled out two 100 dollar bills and said one of the technicians had found them in the glove compartment and that they were contacting the previous owner of the car to return it to them. It made me want to cry because of how honest they were! I don't know how many people would return $200 if they had stumbled upon it while cleaning something out. Finders keepers, losers weepers, right? Not with CarMax. They stand behind what they do with 100% honesty and integrity, and I think that's very honorable.

I could seriously go on and on about how wonderful my experience was, but I'll leave it at this. If you or a family or friend is looking for a reliable car from a company they can trust, CarMax is the way to go. If you happen to visit the one off Manheim Pike, ask for Weeta. She was my sales consultant and worked with me patiently and with excitement the entire day! She will take care of you. Need a new car? Weeta is your girl!

Sam | Senior

I'm so excited to introduce Sam to the blog today! Sam is as sweet as she is gorgeous. I enjoyed our time together during her senior photo session, getting to know each other a little bit better and photographing her. I can't get over the colors from her session! Speaking of which, while editing these photos, I noticed Sam has one eye that is green, and one that is half green, half brown! They're so pretty! Enjoy a bunch of my favorites, I had trouble narrowing it down which to post!

The Tallaricos | Family

Meet the Tallarico Family! Such a sweet family, which I had the joy of photographing at a local park just a few weeks ago. I love the genuine interactions that come from a lifestyle family session, like theirs. Natural, unposed; capturing life as is. Are you interested in a lifestyle session? Fill out the contact form on my website, I'd LOVE to hear from you!

Tyler + Kelly | Engagement

Tyler and Kelly are one of the most genuinely sweet couples I have ever met. They were so easy to work with and their interactions were so real and effortless, posing was not even in the realm of difficult. This session easily falls under one of my most favorite engagement sessions. I love that Tyler and Kelly really made this shoot their own by bringing some things that meant something to them. Kelly brought her grandfather's old bicycle that she and Tyler rode on when they were dating, and shared a story about the one time they were riding the tandem bicycle and got caught in the rain. Talk about romantic!! Simply, I love love, and I love Tyler and Kelly's kind of love. I can't wait for their wedding next summer.
